Freedom Sailing International is a non-profit organization based in New Orleans, whose mission is to design, build and operate the first tall ship for all in the world, based on the goals of Universal Design (UD).
The UD concept includes the full range of human diversity. There are over 70 million people with disabilities in the U.S.A, including thousands of wounded American soldiers. Presently there are only two accessible tall ships in the world available for people with disabilities. The ships are operated by our mentors in the UK, the Jubilee Sailing Trust, which has a proven record of over 30 years of success. Our vessel will enable everyone to participate in the joy of sailing, including people with disabilities and their able-bodied family and friends.
