Arizona: Horse Riding Ranch

Stagecoach Trails Guest Ranch welcomes up to 40 guests, providing an intimate family setting. It is fully handicapped accessible and can comfortably accommodate both disabled and able-bodied guests. The spacious guest rooms  are all accessible with either ADA tubs or roll-in showers and there is also a swimming pool, hot tub (both with a hydraulic lift) and a saloon-like lodge to hang out in. For the shower there are three different types of shower benches for guests to use: one that has a full back and seat, another with a seat but no back and one with a back, seat and an arm rest on one side. This last shower seat is the largest and can probably support a person up to 250 pounds. All of the showers have removable heads for accessibility.

At the Stagecoach Trails Guest Ranch three delicious buffet-style meals are served daily in a southwestern style dining room. Wheelchairs can navigate easily throughout the ranch as there are no stairs or curbs and every building is fully wheelchair friendly. All of the dinners include a type of meat (beef, turkey, chicken, fish), a starch (potatoes, rice, pasta), veggies, fresh baked bread, fruit, and a garden salad.  Mouth watering desserts are served every evening.  Breakfasts include a selection of cereals, breads, bagels, oatmeal, fruit, pop tarts, yogurt in addition to hot dishes, like such as eggs, bacon and hash browns or pancakes or French toast and sausage. Lunches vary from homemade pizza, to burgers and fries, to filly cheese steaks, tacos, delicious homemade soups, pasta salads and more!  All of our meals our hearty and no one will go hungry. Chips, sodas and candy bars available at all times for extra snacks between meals for a cost of 75 cents each.  There is also a fruit bowl set up 24 hours a day in the dining room for everyone at no cost.

Someone in a wheelchair is also able to ride a horse. The ranch has a ramp for easy mounting and dismounting on a horse and sidewalkers can be provided when necessary. All the horses used are well mannered and can accommodate all riding levels and physical abilities. One, however, must be at least 8-years-old and not exceed 230 pounds. In a well supervised arena, one gets a feel for the horse and will then be able to take the trails if shown that he or she is capable. Otherwise, he or she can keep to riding in the arena. On the trail, his or her company can join and together enjoy the “Wild West” experience.

Guests can enjoy beautiful sunsets and starry nights. Nighttime activities include billiards, campfire stories, games, line dancing, cowboy singers, horseshoe tournaments or just relaxing and enjoying the company of new friends.

Stagecoach Trails Guest Ranch is close to Route 66, Lake Havasu City, Oatman, Laughlin, Hoover Dam and Las Vegas. The ranch is also within driving distance of the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park.
