  • Hi my sister Lisa has been in ICU for over 3 1/2 months. Then finally was stable enough to be off the ventilator and in a couple different hospitals for a couple more mos. We wish to see her in an acute rehab program, where she can exercise more but her insurance isn't too good. We thank God and the doctors & nurses that helped save her life. It's a miracle she survived and was released on Christmas. She fell her first off the transporter shuttle. Sometimes she over estimates her strength and her lower half of her body is too weak to walk long distance. She was happy to drive home but after being home a few days she's noticing her lack of strength. She's been depressed and frustrated that she's unable to do what everyone else can. Recently been released and wants to go back to work, afraid her bills will fall behind. Right now she has only $5 in her pocket. I'm the only sister she has and have been frequent flying across the country, from Chicago, my mom and I to see her. We've struggled to make life and decisions for her, working and paying hers and our bills. Money has been extremely tight on our end too. She's a really good person, who's helped work with Foster children, gives to charity and been a big contributor to our community. Please help her! She needs a wheelchair. She loves Vegas and the strip. It makes her feel alive. Sometimes she aimlessly wonders or walk around the strip by herself after work. Her friends & boss from Toyota car dealership would call her and ask if she wants company. But she'd say no, I'm good by myself. I'm just out on the strip people watching. That's how she's always been independent and happy to see the world.
