Automatic doors lead into the lobby, bar, and restaurant on the ground floor. A continental breakfast is available at the hotel. Lunch is also served as well as snacks and small plates from the bar around dinner. The elevator to the one wheelchair accessible room is to the left of the front desk. Around a short, carpeted hallway is the modified room. A spa offers massages but access details were not checked.
The key card is used to turn the electricity on by inserting it into a slot by the door once inside the room and includes the lights, television, and heating/cooling system. The room is carpeted but not the bathroom. Two chairs on the side of the bed closest to the window block access. The full-sized bed is firm and slightly lower than the height of my manual wheelchair. Across from the bed, under the wall-mounted TV, are the most accessible power outlets. The closet has lowered shelves but not a lowered closet bar to hang clothes. A full-length mirror is in the hallway to the door and in the bathroom.
A small roll-up sink is in front of the mirror along with mounted hand soap, hair- dryer, and makeup mirror. The makeup mirror is not within reach if seated in a wheelchair. The toilet has two removable grab-bars and a trash can that opens with a foot petal.
The roll-in shower comes equipped with a shower bench, hand-held shower nozzle, and grab-bars. The shower, though barrier-free is challenging due to the glass wrap around the door. Once in, it’s not possible to independently move a wheelchair out of the shower but still within reach after closing the glass door.
