Boston Four Seasons Hotel

The Four Seasons Hotel at 200 Boylston Street is in Downtown Boston and conveniently located to many places such as the gardens and Boston Commons. The pool is located on the 8th floor and DOES have an accessible lift. On the first level, go to the bar on the first level and ask for a drink made with the official Macallan pure ice ball maker–only a few like this in the world!

This Four Seasons Hotel features accessible rooms such as #518. Located two rooms down from the elevator, there is a short section which is carpeted. The front door features a lower peephole with standard width while the bathroom’s is wider for wheelchair accessibility in mind.

While the bed provides a reasonable height and has enough “foot” roll under room, the bathroom and closet are a little baffling. As you can see in the photos: the toilet area lacks a support rail and the shower, though designed with a double door to allow for easier sliding access from a wheelchair to a seated bench with adjustable height shower head, it also has a small step up and over to get in. In other words, it is not a true roll-in accessible. If a person has limited mobility, the toilet still may be a problem but the shower should be fine. The same same can be said about the height of the sink counter; fine for those that can stand but have limited mobility but may be too high for those seated.  With that said, there are two height levels in the closet for hanging dress garments but even the lower is likely too high for those seated.
