In 2018, we traveled to Valparaíso, Chile, a lovely ocean-side city, to celebrate Christmas and New Years with our friends. What an incredible trip! We thought that there would be zero wheelchair access in this part of Chile, but we were wrong.
Upon arriving, we rented a regular vehicle and brought portable-hand controls to drive the car from home. At one point, we piled three wheelchairs in the vehicle. Our friends showed us all around Valparaíso, including the pier and ocean, wine country, a wildlife park, and of course the lively and colorful streets of the city. We were also as close to Easter Island as we’d ever get without being there, so we decided to take a quick 24-hour trip and experience the magic of this island.
