Halston Apart Hotel is an independent option. This hotel offers self-catering accommodation with a hotel feel in Carlisle City Centre. The building houses a bar and bistro and a fully equipped spa. There are 2 wheelchair accessible rooms available. The hotel has level access at the front and rear entrances and a wheelchair lift to the access rooms, to retain the original stairway. From the lift, access to the room is through a set of double doors, which may be difficult to open without assistance. The apartment has a kitchen area, dining area, and bedroom(s) with just enough space to maneuver next to the bed. The walk/wheel-in shower is barrier-free and shower stools are available on request, but there are no grab-rails. Two accessible parking bays are available next to the hotel. Sadly they won’t accommodate a wheelchair using parent and put an additional bed in the accessible room despite there being the space, so my options are child on the floor in one room or a family room with a bathroom I can’t access!
