At the Poole’s Mill Bridge Park in Cumming, Georgia you can see the beautiful covered bridge and soak in the water.  People come from all over during the summer time to wad in the water and go down the rock slides. For visitors with wheelchairs, there is only one direction you will be able to go to get to river, covered bridge and a glimpse at the waterfall.

  • Parking: Lots of parking that is a marked large lot and has an entire lot for wheelchair spots (see photos).
  • Bathrooms: Parking lot to paved sidewalks to center where bathrooms are.  Always men and women bathrooms in Georgia. Each bathroom I went to had 1 to multiple of regular stalls and 1 with grab bars on the sides and very large in size.  Again they are always going to be finished and nicely done.
  • Park Maps-Keys: No.
  • Drinking Fountains: Yes, they are throughout the park.
  • Picnic Areas: Yes, a very large one with sheltered tables, and bathrooms are right next to it.
  • Benches: Sweet areas to sit throughout park or eat lunch at picnic tables along river.
  • Dog Friendly: Yes, you will see lots of dogs here. No dog park.
  • Trails/Pathways: Paved path throughout, covered bridge center area will be about 3 ft wide.  When you arrive at the park you will take the only path into the park, at the intersection after the playground and before the picnic area turn left and then right at the end of that path to follow down to the covered bridge and river.  If you park in the wheelchair parking spots then come into the park and go straight so the playground, the trailhead is on your left side, and then turn right to go down to the covered bridge and river.
  • Playgrounds: Yes, very cute one under the trees.

I have had the pleasure of getting to see everything imaginable on the West Coast with my hiking, camping nature loving family. In my 20s I was able to travel around the world and can say I have lived on every continent besides Antarctica. Have been living out in Georgia for the last two years exploring the East Coast!
