When I need a door-to-door ride in Victoria, I keep a short list of go-to options, plus a couple of back-ups, so I’m not scrambling at the curb. Below is what’s working now for wheelchair-accessible taxis (WAVs), with phone numbers and practical tips.
My Short List (Call-Ahead Recommended)
- Yellow Cab of Victoria — (250) 381-2222
Fleet includes wheelchair-accessible taxis. For airport pick-ups, pre-book at least 1 hour ahead.
yellowcabvictoria.com - Bluebird Cabs — (250) 382-2222
Operates wheelchair-accessible vans as part of its fleet.

Tip: When booking, say clearly that you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (ramp + tie-downs). If you use a power chair or scooter, mention dimensions and weight. For airport rides, request curbside assistance and confirm the meeting point.
HandyDART & Taxi Saver (Back-Up Options)
- handyDART (door-to-door, eligibility required)
Register first, then book rides by phone or via handyLINE (24/7 automated booking once enrolled).
About handyDART · Booking info - Taxi Saver (for registered handyDART riders)

Does your wheelchair taxi accommodate a scooter? I have a guest who would like to go to the Butchart gardens tomorrow. I am the concierge at the delta Hotel and can be reached at this email or at 250-360-5812. Thank you
Victoria: please contact the taxi cab company directly.
How much would it cost to take a taxi from james bay in Victoria to chemainus health care centre in chemainus?
How would I go about reserving a wheelchair taxi from the Cruise Ship Terminal in Vancouver to our hotel?
thanks in advance,
Larry
If you know the time and location to be picked up then you shouldn’t have any problems calling in advance. Vancouver is one of the most ample places in the world for wheelchair taxis. I am sure you won’t be the only one either, so it’s a good tip for the taxi company.
Why do you only have Yellow Cab as being the only wheelchair taxis? There are others.
Please share! What ones do you like?
Blue bird is also a very good company that has proven to be pretty reliable for wheelchair cabs.
