In Durango, Colorado, ride on a historic train through scenic mountains. In the winter, the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad train ride is about five and half hours long. The train tracks really hug the mountain at times with views of the forest and Animas River. The train travels into the mountains and stops for an hour so visitors can look around and have a snack before making the return trip down the mountain.

One car on the train has a wheelchair lift, so it’s 100% necessary that a reservation is made in advanced. A total of four seats may be removed in this one car, creating space for a maximum of two wheelchairs. Also in this train car is a wheelchair accessible toilet and sink.
